Ground floor

The main entrance gives onto a living/dining room with a large antique table and plenty of chairs to spend pleasant evenings inside. This is connected to a big eat-in “country kitchen”, newly built with solid wood cabinetry and granite counters, with 5-burner gas stove and electric oven, dishwasher & washing machine, and fully-equipped with cooking utensils, plates, dishes, and tableware.

A sitting room/study with satellite television & DVD player hosts the stairs to the upper level and an exit to the back garden.

Layout/ plan of upper floor

Top Floor
Upstairs there’s a twin bedroom and double bedroom. Each is furnished with antiques, bookshelves with recreational reading, and decorated with antique prints.

The huge bathroom with tub/shower is also located on this floor.

All windows have screens. Fans provided in summer.

A rollaway bed or crib can be added to the master bedroom for children

Garden

View to southwest from Il Poggiolo

The Casa Colonica is the main villa on the Poggiolo complex. The Casa Colonica garden area (ca.200 square meters) is complete with umbrella, benches, table and chairs. There is a marvellous view onto the Arno Valley and Appennine mountains. Sit with your feet up and read a book in the morning sun, or sip a glass of wine as the evening light turns the hills into a Leonardesque landscape…
